#24 Daisies Are Forever

6x6,
Heavy Body Acrylic on Masonite Board,
$30
I'll be honest with you, I love this one! 😊 It wasn't looking at details, I was frustrated (by an non-related subject) and I just started painting. I was very pleasantly surprised to see how it turned out!

#23 Callas for Mama

6 x 6,
Acrylic on Masonite board,
$30

This is one of my favorite paintings I have made. I love purple Calla Lilies, but they can be challenging to paint. This is the first time I have ever really liked any painting I have done of Calla Lilies. I also like the dark backdrop, it creates a lot of contrast.

#19 Royal Blue

12 x 12,
Heavy Body Acrylic on canvas board,
$30

I'm pretty excited about this piece - all because of those roses. I have struggled for what seems like the beginning of time with painting rose petals (do I make them geometric? Do I try to go super detailed?) and these seem like a pretty good compromise. They just make me happy.

#15 Painting What I Love

6 x 6,
Heavy Acrylic on Masonite board,
$30

This is one of my absolute favorite paintings that I have ever done - not because it is all that fabulous, but because it is out of the box. It's messy, but still grounded in reality. I just like that. By the way, my brushes usually are that messy. That gives it character, right? Right! 😅

#13 Flowers Make Me Happy

9 x 12,
Heavy Body Acrylic on Masonite board
$30

This is the thirteenth painting in the daily painting series. There is a lot I am iffy about with the
painting, but I do love the texture in the flower. Can you tell that flowers make me happy?

#12 Avodcado or Two

12 x 12, acrylic on Masonite board
For someone who doesn't like painting fruits very much, I sure do gravitate towards them when choosing a set-up. They just create some really neat shadows, especially if you squint down.

#11 Fiery Flower

12 x 12,
Heavy Body Acrylic on Masonite board,
$30
I loved this still life set-up. I didn't quite portray the details of the vase like I had hoped, but I still like this painting. :)

I am ridiculously happy about that flower. It just makes me smile. 😜

#9 Sunflowers for Ma

14 x 8,
Heavy Body Acrylic Paint on Burlap Canvas
Not for Resale, but another painting can always be recreated!
This is the ninth painting in my daily painting experience. This was an interesting painting to
create. It was my first time using burlap as a paint surface and though it had a manufactured clear gesso on the back, it was very difficult for the paint to take. I am happy with the turn out, and my mother was happy, too - this was one of her Mother's Day gifts this year. Happy Mother's Day, Ma! You mean more to me than I can ever express! ❤️

#6 Sunflowers and Yellow Vases

11 x 14.
Heavy Body Acrylic Paint on canvas,
$30

This is the sixth work in my daily painting process. At the insistence of a fantastic artist (I also consider her a mentor and an inspiration), Lisa Daria, I worked with the same still life (with slight variations) for the first week or so. This allowed me to really see the still life as different entities to be observed, not some fearsome big picture. :)

#2 Yellow and Green

 12 x 12,
Heavy Body acrylic on canvas,

This is #2 in the daily painting experiment. Like the first, the texture of this painting was created by a large house painting brush and a #8 Windsor.

#1 Beginnings

 12 x 12 x 1+1/2,
Heavy BodyAcrylic on 1 and a half inch thick canvas,
$40

This is the first painting in the in my experiment with daily painting. This work was the
last large project we did at the Lisa Daria Workshop at The Art School of Sandy Springs in late April of 2014.
